La Fédération Nationale des Victimes d’Attentats et d’Accidents Collectifs (FENVAC), a member of SOS Catastrophes network, organized on 30 January a high level conference celebrating its twentieth anniversary.

The theme of this one-day event was the provision of support and care for disaster and terrorism victims. On this occasion, the FENVAC brought together victims, kins, institutional and private partners to talk about the need of a comprehensive answer.

Among the distinguished speakers were Christiane Taubira, the French Minister of Justice and Bernard Cazeneuve, the French Minister of Home affairs. Anne Hidalgo, the Mayor of Paris, gave a keynote speech.

For the 250 people who were there this day, it was a unique opportunity to listen and learn from victims’ testimonies. Crisis management practitioners, inspectors and lawyers brought, by sharing professional insights, an added value to the discussion.

The day was divided in tree topical sessions: victims’ needs and expectations, to respond to the crisis and victims’ resilience. The conference programme can be found on the conference website: http://20ans.fenvac.org/?page_id=8

The conference proceedings will be released soon.
